Resumen:
t is well accepted that topographic changes in lipid monolayers hydrolized by lipolytic enzymes are a consequence of enzyme surface localization. Lateral packing deffects arrising from lipid phase coexistence are postulated places in which the enzyme is preferably localized. This work describes a method of mixing two lipid monolayers which simulate the manner that lipids are mixed when a lypolitic enzyme is hydrolizing the surface. In enzyme-free surface mixed film, a topographyc pattern similar to the generated actively by the enzyme was observed. The main conclusion from our experiments is that mixing-demixing properties of substrates and products of the enzymatic reaction determine topographyc evolution; enzyme surface localization is not the only factor.
