Resumen:
etallized carbon paste electrodes containing glucose oxidase have demonstrated to be very useful for the rapid, selective, and sensitive glucose quantification. This article focuses on the development of gold-dispersed carbon paste electrodes containing glucose oxidase for glucose quantification. The catalytic action of the gold microparticles towards the electrooxidation and electroreduction of the enzymatically generated hydrogen peroxide offers a sensitive and selective monitoring of glucose. The influence of the working potential and paste composition on the analytical response and on the kinetic parameters of the bioelectrode is evaluated. The usefulness of the biosensor in flow systems is also demonstrated.
