Treatments that raise the level of IL-1b in the brain, given after training, impair contextual fear conditioning. The melanocortin a-MSH exerts potent anti-inflammatory actions by physiologically antagonizing the effect of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Five subtypes of melanocortin re
