A comment on Teachers´ salaries in Argentina and Other Latin American Countries

This paper comments the results on Mincer equations of teachers´salaries that recent research have reported for Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay. Next, the structure oh educational system, which helps in assessing differences across countriesin the level and modality of the intitutions where students are trained for the teaching profession, is briefly presented. It is also introduced the comparative analysis of results on salaries and returns to education and other characteristics of teachers relative to comparative workers, and the comparative analysis of the income equation. Finally, the most important findings in the paper are summarizes.
