Resumen:
STUDY OF DIET IN ARCHAEOLOGICAL POPULATIONS OF CENTRAL ARGENTINA THROUGH THE ANALYSIS OF VEGETABLE MICROREMAINS AND ISOTOPIC EVIDENCE. In this paper, results of the analysis of stable isotopes (?13Ccol and ?15N) and vegetable microremains found in the dental calculus of 43 adult individuals (28 male, 15 female) and one juvenile (male), dated by AMS to between 387 ± 41 and 4058 ± 89 14C years BP, are presented in order to conduct a bioarchaeological study of the diet of the human groups that occupied the central region of Argentina. The individuals come from 22 archaeological sites located in two different geographical regions of Córdoba Province, the Sierras and Llanuras. The prevalence rates were calculated on the basis of sex, chronology, and geographic origin of each individual. The results suggest the consumption mainly of wild plants with a C3 photosynthetic pattern, such as Prosopis sp., Geoffroea decorticans and Trithrinax campestris, during the entire Late Holocene and the in
