Resumen:
Nevirapine (NVP) is an antiretroviral drug that belongs to the non-nucleoside inhibitors class of the HIV-1 virus reverse transcriptase (NNRTI). Only one crystal structure is known, reported by Mui et al., in the centrosymmetric P21/c space group (Form I)1.
The literature also describes the existence of two polymorphs (Form II and III) and one pseudo-polymorph (Form IV), studied by X-ray powder diffraction, RAMAN and IR, but with no crystal structure available yet2,3.
We report here, the crystal structure of the pseudo-polymorph buthanol solvate of nervirapine, C15H14N4O*0.3(CH3OH).
