Resumen:
Results obtained at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (Chile) and the Complejo Astronómico El Leoncito (Argentina) from UBV, DDO and Washington photometry of stars in the unstudied open cluster IC 2714 are presented. New UBV photometry of 204 stars in the cluster vicinity allowed us to identify 132 cluster members - including one photometric variable - and 13 probable members. The analysis of the data yields E(B-V) = 0.36 +/- 0.03 and Vo-Mv = 10.60 (1320 +/- 110) pc for the reddening and true distance modulus, respectively. The slope of the luminosity function agrees well with that obtained by Taff (1974, AJ, 79, 1280) averaged over 62 open clusters. Photometric membership criteria applied to the yellow and red stars observed in the cluster field confirm that 11 stars are red cluster members, in good agreement with unpublished Coravel radial velocity measurements. IC 2714 is chemically homogeneous, the mean [Fe/H] being -0.13 +/- 0.11. An age of 350 Myr has been derived from models taking into account mass loss and moderate overshooting. This paper will appear in Astronomy & Astrophysics Supplement Series.
