Resumen:

Cetyltrimethylammonium p-toluenesulfonate (CTAT) is a cationic surfactant that can form wormlike micelles in aqueous solution. Extensive studies have been performed on its rheological properties and on its interactions with polymers and other surfactants (Berret et al., 1998; Müller et al., 2004). As a result of these interactions, formation of structured fluids in which interpenetrated networks (or giant micelles) of wormlike micelles and polymers (or other surfactants) can be established (Calderon et al., 2009).

In this work, novel amphiphilic dendrons were specifically synthesized and functionalized to achieve solubility in water. The interactions of these dendrons with CTAT in aqueous solutions were explored in detail by simple shear rheology, in a concentration range where the CTAT forms wormlike micelles
