Resumen:
The identification of quantitative trait loci (QTL) associated with features of agronomical interest has been extensively carried out to contribute to plant genetic improvement. Numerous works have been published about QTL for resistance to diseases caused by viruses. This paper presents an approach to promoting the integration of different statistical tools for identifying the position of the QTL with major effect for viral diseases. The methodological innovation of this work involves following a logical sequence of analysis (protocol), namely, building the research question, carrying out a systematic review related to the research question, and performing a meta-analysis. Statistical topics for further improvement and protocol applications are noted. The analytical process has been illustrated using Forest Plots by maize chromosomes; however, it may be applied to other production crops using QTL related to viral disease.
