Resumen:
In electrocatalytic processes, the choice of the electrode material is a crucial issue in order to improve its efficiency, environmental impact, and operating cost. In that sense, hybrid nanostructured materials obtained from organic and inorganic components are promising candidates. Particularly, mesoporous inorganic silica-based matrices and polymers are effective building blocks for the development of materials and nanodevices with a hard skeleton and a more flexible coating. The mesoporous SBA 15 presents a uniform hexagonal structure of pores that facilitate the access and incorporation of molecules in its interior as well as the chemical modification of the surface with different functional groups. The functional groups and the internal structure of the hyperbranched polyester polyols (H20, H30, and H40) based on 2,2-bis(methylol)propionic acid units could increase the interaction between metal and the platform, avoiding the aggregation and leaching of the metal. The aim of this work is to assess the electrocatalytic properties of glassy carbon electrodes (GCE) modified with hybrid nanostructured materials based on SBA-15 impregnated with hyperbranched polyester polyols
