Resumen:
e report the first biosensor for a novel and important cardiac biomarker, Galectin 3 (Gal3),using the antibody anti-Gal3 as biorecognition element and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) as transduction method for quantifying the immunosensing event. We present a critical discussion about the construction of the platform that supports the biorecognition element, in this case a thiolated gold surface modified by self-assembling of four bilayers of poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDDA) and graphene oxide (GO); the role of GO in the biosensor as anchoring point for the anti-Gal3 immobilization and amplifier of the analytical signal; the importance of the use of 3-aminophenylboronic acid (3ABA) to orientate the antibody and allow a more efficient Gal3 biosensing; and the analytical application of resulting biosensor. The new platform represents an interesting alternative for the label-free biosensing of Gal3 in the whole range of clinical relevant concentrations (linear range between 1
