Resumen:
All the readers of this book are likely to agree that pronunciation is an important aspect of leraning English as a foreign language. It is precisely with suprasegments that this book is mostly concerned with. More specifically, the focus is placed on phonemic adjustments, word stress, rhythm, prominence and intonation. Each chapetr provides theory and extensive practice in one of these topics. It is worth noting that accurate production of the sounds of the English phonological system is also considered of outstanding importance in English. "Exploring suprasegmentals" is also expected to help its users continue developing certain strategies that are regarded as useful for an EFL learner and future professional of the English language: dictionary work, self-monitoring, self-assessment and peer correction, among others.
