Resumen:
n this work, we report the building of a nanostructured platform withbiomimetic activity towards the non-enzymatic oxidation of ethanol. Thisbiomimetic nanostructured platform was obtained by including Ni nanowires(NiNWs) in a graphite matrix composite. The NiNWs were obtained byelectrochemical synthesis using commercial aluminum oxide templates andcharacterized by scanning electronic microscopy (SEM), X-ray emission (EDS)and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The biomimetic composite transducers (CPENiNWs)was studied by cyclic voltammetry, amperometry and electrochemicalimpedance spectroscopy (EIS) assays. CPE-NiNWs proved to be highlysensitive for the detection of ethanol in 0.10 M NaOH, demonstrating a wide2linear range (1.0 x 10-4-1.1 x 10-2 M) and a detection limit of 3.10 x 10-7 M. CPENiNWswas used for the efficient quantification of ethanol in alcoholicbeverages, obtaining results comparable to those reported by themanufacturers. The operational conditions of CPE-NiNWs were accomplishedi
