upervising classes is one of the core components of teacher training and education. In order to facilitate the assessment of trainees' performance to cooperating teachers, an observation schedule has been designed by the university supervisors or pedagogical tutors at the Faculty of Languages, National University of Cordoba. This observation schedule constitutes the assessment instrument in our Practicum experience and it is divided in three broad categories: lesson planning, the trainee and the outcome of the lesson. These arbitrary categories mirror the aims and objectives of the teaching programme at our Faculty. This instrument allows cooperating teachers not to rely on impressionistic judgment but to measure trainees' performance by explicitly stated criteria.
