iabetes mellitus can be defined as a disturbance in carbohydrate, protein, and lipid metabolism, caused by a relative or absolute insuline deficiency.(1)The diabetes during pregnancy is classified into two groups: the one that precedes gestation, Pregestational DM and the one whose glucose intolerance is developed during pregnancy, Gestational DM.(1,4)At the same time, pregestational DM can be divided into: Type I1 diabetes and ttype II2 diabetes (T1DM and T2DM). T2DM is characterized by resistance to insulin. It developesdevelops in adults, and it is usually associated with obesity.(1,4,5) It is one of the diseases that affect development and outcome of the pregnancy the most, which is why during the last decades different treatment protocols have been carried out by multidisciplinary teams which have achieved, with a proper metabolic control, a reduction of maternal-fetal complications.(5,6)We must highlight that this pathology has a great impact not only on the mother and the fetu
