Resumen:
The aim of this work was the development and evaluation of microparticulate interpolyelectrolyte complexes based on benznidazole and polymers, with the potential utilities to controlled drug delivery system design. Biocompatibles, recognized as safe and widely pharmaceutical used cationic and anionic polyelectrolytes were selected to perform the complexes. The microparticles were produced using currently and reliable preparation methods and showed favorable physicomechanical properties. Release profiles, using different biopharmaceutical media, showed high modulation capacities of benznidazole delivery from the microparticulate complexes. These materials have interesting properties to be exploited in the design new pharmaceutical products for the efficient Chagas disease treatment.
