Resumen:
Congestion by delaying the movement of people not only generates time losses, but also affects the economy, safety and air quality (Dadashova et al., 2021).Companies are not absent in this world, congestion affects its delivery times, and consequently its customers satisfaction, and competitiveness, increasing fuel costs and personnel productivity. The pandemic period is affecting consumer and business behaviours. We intend to study these potential impacts in Santiago, Chile. The main objective is the description and comparison of the daily speed of operation in pre-pandemic and pandemic periods, in Santiago, based on gps data of urban cargo fleet movements. Two main statistical techniques were used: the Exponential Regression Model for time series analysis and daily seasonality indexes determination, and the Hierarchical Cluster Analysis (HCA) to identify clusters of pixels with similar characteristics of operation speed in the temporal span.As a result it was possible to identify daily operation speed indices based on cargo fleet movements during the first semester 2019 (pre pandemic) and first semester 2020 (pandemic). The identification and comparison of homogeneous patterns of daily operation speed in both periods, and the characterization of the identified patterns based on geographic location.
