Resumen:
In the last few years there has been a growing concern for the teaching of pronunciation to EFL learners. New insights into language teaching call for changes regarding the teaching-learning process of the phonological component of the language. Thus, in this paper, we will first discuss the reasons why EFL teachers should promote a healthy concern for pronunciation among learners; we will later explain why teachers should move beyond traditional teaching practices towards a more humanistic approach.
