Critical Discurse Analysis attempts to describe, interpret and explain discurse as a form of social, cultural and ideological practice (Fairclough, 1989, 1992, 1995). CDA sets to accomplish such purpose through the analysis of text. Dicourse is conceived as a three-dimensional construct consisting of a (socio) linguistics dimension and sociopolitical dimension, a sociopolitical dimension(Kumaravadivelu, 1999, p. 469). The paper concludes with an attempt to highlingt the pedagogical relevace of the CDA model of textual dissection to particular instructed, namely the English teacher- training programme offered at the Faculty of Languages in Córdpba Argentina.
