This study sets out to explore the competence in pronunciation exhibited by a group of Spanish speaking English teacher - tranees at Córdoba University in Argentina. The concerns include an analysis of group of learners´ productive performance focusing on errors that occur at the segmental level to proceed with a preliminary attempt to establish the underlying causes of these errors.
