Resumen:
In the last years much effort has focused on the new formulation strategies for subunit vaccines. In this context, we formulated ovalbumin (OVA) and CpG-ODN (TLR-9 agonist) with ananostructure formed by self-assembly of ascorbyl palmitate (Coa-ASC16). This nanovaccine (OVA/CpG-ODN/Coa-ASC16) elicited an adaptive immune response (IgG1, IgG2a, Th1, Th17and CD8+ cytotoxic T cells) superior to those induced by an aqueous formulation (OVA/CpG-ODN) (Sanchéz Vallecillo,MF et.al., Biomaterials, 2014, 2529). Coa-ASC16 alone inducesinflammatory response (Sanchéz Vallecillo,MF et.al., JCR, 2015, 12). However, we still do not know exactly the mechanisms of action of Coa-ASC16. Hence, the aim of this work was to testthe impact of this nanoformulation on the biodistribution of vaccine components and early immune response.
