Resumen:
Numerous antimicrobial agents, which are able to effectively inhibit the growth of microorganisms, have been developed1. Among them, biocidal polymers such as N-halamine antimicrobial polymers have been extensively studied over the past decade. These Nhalamines have long-term stability in aqueous solution and for their dry storage. N-halamines are particularly effective, safe to humans, and environmentally friendly1,2. The objective of this work was to modify superficially polypropylene (PP) films with N-halamide groups of adsorbed barbituric acid, to later evaluate their antimicrobial activity (AMA) against Staphylococcus aureus.
