An automated test bed (ATB) has been designed to perform electrochemical and immunoassay measurements. One of the main uses of the ATB will be for testing a large number of microelectrodes. These microelectrodes will be used in electrochemical immunoassays for the determination of cardiac proteins. The test bed can also automate the process of analysis of samples in a flow through manifold which include sampling, measurement, and evaluation of the measured data. The ATB is controlled by a program written in LabVIEW and consists of an electronically controllable actuator, sampling valve(s), peristaltic pump, potentiostat, and a data acquisition device in combination with a control software.
