Type I interferons (IFNs-I) have been traditionally associated with antiviral immuneresponses, however, their importance in host defence against fungal pathogens is beingincreasingly appreciated. C.albicans(Ca) is the main causative agent of VulvovaginalCandidiasis(VVC), an inflammatory disease affecting 75% of healthy women inreproductive age at least once in their lifetime.
