Resumen:
The understanding of how membrane physics controlbiological processes in cells is a key step to better comprehendbiology. One aspect is how lipid packing andmembrane curvature dictates the rules for lipid/proteininteractions and/or protein sorting. Here, and based onprevious, I will introduce two different cases of how thisphysical principles could modulate the association andtrafficking of proteins: 1-how lipid packing and membranecurvature, together with membrane order, may impacton the sorting of transmembrane SNARE proteins thatreach the golgi and are further transported to the plasmamembraen; 2-how in-situ phospholipase activity induceslipid-packing defects that are ?sensed? by ALPS, the amphipaticlipid packing sensor motif of ArfGAP1.
