It is one of the most important syndromes of antibodies deficiency characterized by an impaired antigen specific humoral immune response, particularly against bacterial capsular polysaccharides. These patients have a high susceptibility to recurrent infections of the respiratory tract and the CVID has a narrow relationship with pathologies such as deficiency of IgA and IgG subclases.
