Resumen:
Public policy that supports entrepreneurial development in technology sectors has intensified significantly during the last 20 years in most regions. In Latin America, there are more and more national and subnational governments that implement these kind of policies. However, those policies tend to be, in general, managed by government areas with little relative importance, with scarce financial resources, few qualified personnel, and with insufficientbase information (Ferraro and Stumpo, 2010: 21). The province of Córdoba in Argentina fits the described old.The purpose of this work is to establish how important it is for Córdoba?s economic development to implement programs with an impact on entrepreneurial development. To fulfill this goal, this work is divided in three parts. The first chapter, of a theoretical nature, studies the relationship between entrepreneurial development, the productive structure and its effect on economic development under a structuralist approach.Taking those concepts, the second chapter analyzes the relevance of implementing programs that favor the birth and growth of innovative high-impact technological ventures. For this, a description of the main characteristics of Cordoba?s productive structure, in terms of productive concentration and labor heterogeneity, is presented. The work ends in the third chapter with the concluding remarks and public policy recommendations that derive from the methodology used.
