Resumen:
ABSTRACTThis paper focuses on contrasting the hypothesis of wage convergence in Argentina for the period 2004 - 2020, with special emphasis on the formal and informal labour markets. The concept of beta convergence is used, which is based on the relationship between wage growth rate and its initial level. The hypothesis is that the informal labour market is more flexible than the formal one, implying that informal wages are mainly influenced by the specific conditions in each province, while in the formal one, factors such as collective bargaining and other rigidities determine wage evolution.
