Resumen:
Thermosensitive hydrogels are crosslinked polymers with high capacity to absorb solution. The most widely studied thermosensitive polymer is poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(PNIPAm), which undergoes a sharp coil?globule transition in water around 32 C (phase transition temperature-Tp) changing from a hydrophilic state to a hydrophobic state. When the temperature is reached above Tp, the swollen hydrogel collapses and its internal solution is released. The value of Tp is related to the hydrophylic/hydrophobic nature of the polymer. It can be adjusted changing the composition of hydrogel through synthesis of copolymers or interpenetration of the network with another polymer. Considering these properties we want to build a sensor of estrous cycles of bovines. Whereby a termosentitive hydrogel switching at temperatures between 36-38 C but with diferent physicochemical properties have been synthesized. We have build macroporous hydrogels by cryogelation and porogenic agent and mechanical properties have been determinate.Partition coefficients of a dyes series were determinate below Tp.
