DINÁMICA INFLACIONARIA ARGENTINA PRE-COVID 19 Un Mundo Minado de Outliers

This research adds to Zarzosa Valdivia (2020)?s findings the influence of stochastic outliers on the inertia of headline and sectoral (food and beverage, clothing, health, education, transport, communication, housing, household and equipment, miscellaneous goods and services, recreation and culture and hotels and restaurants) Argentinean inflation for the period (1995M10-2020M03).We find that a) 10% of the last 15 years (34 months) has implied a series of large price shocks, b) the inertia of headline (clothing, health and education and miscellaneous goods) inflation is around 50% (90%), and c) headline inflation increases by 23% of a devaluation, in the first three months.
