Resumen:
Organophosphorous (OP) pesticides are widely used in agriculture for field crop and fruit tree protection against a variety of insects, as well as in and around residences and offices for the control of urban pests. Cyclodextrins (CDs) are macrocyclic, non-toxic, biodegradable and water soluble molecules that can form inclusion compounds with a large variety of molecules. OP pesticides frequently display adverse properties such as low aqueous solubility, low stability, and high toxicity that limit their applications and render them environmentally hazardous. Successful cyclodextrin inclusion of these types of agrochemicals can contribute significantly to the safety and optimum use of these compounds by reducing their volatility and stabilizing them against chemical and photolytic degradation among other benefits. We are presenting here the results of our study on the interaction of Fenitrothion with TRIMEA in the solid state.
