A descriptionofthenon-LTEintramolecularozonerelaxationcascadeconsideringtherelativeimportanceofdifferenttransitionsontheO3(v1v2v3) vibrationallevelshasbeenstudiedbyquantifyingthe kineticlawofeveryprocessandtransitionthataffecteachlevelpopulation.Theanalysisconsidersthe inclusionforthefirst-timeofbending-to-stretching(k2D) transitionsintheenergyrelaxationcascade ofozoneafteritisformedbythree-bodyrecombination.Inthisway,thevibrationaltemperaturesandtherelativecontributionofeverytransitionarepresentedasafunctionofaltitude.The resultsshowthattheinclusionofthebending-to-stretchingtransitionsintheO3 non-LTErelaxationschemedecreasesthe n2-modeoverpopulationandthereforethestretchinglevels’populationincreases,asrequiredforacorrectradiancesimulationofthe4.8 mm ozoneemissioninthe upperatmosphere.
