Abstract: Hydroponics is a method of growing plants without the use of soil by using mineral nutrient solutions in water as a solvent. This technique, generally used for growing green leaf plants for human consumption or as forage, allows strict control of water quality and nutrients, permitting a contaminants free culture. In a greenhouse, at the UNVM, Villa María, Córdoba, experiments were conducted investigating hydroponic culture of lettuce (lactuca sicilia), quantifying plant growth at three different densities of culture, using non linear mixed effects models.
