This article essays a critic hermeneutic feminist rereading of Emmanuel Levinas´s philosophy and especially analyses his definitios about the woman and the feminine in both periods of his works. It suggests there are various accounts into Levinas?s texts that makes an interesteting problem over woman´s and feminine?s notions, particulary in the Phenomenology of Eros of Totality and Infinity. It focalizes the gender discusion appearing around the contradictory and ambiguous Levinas?s conceptions of the feminine alterity. Finally, it answers the following question: what could offers Levinas´s thought to the critic feminist theory?
