      In this work we report the LIF, REMPI and dispersed fluorescence spectra of the p-cresol(NH3) complex, recorded in a supersonic expansion. In adittion, ab-initio calculations on the ground electronic state structures and vibrations have been performed to support the experimental results.

      By comparison of the intensities of the LIF and REMPI vibronic transitions it is shown that the lifetime of the S1 state of the complex decreases upon vibrational excitation. The dark channel responsible of this behaviour was proposed to be the H atom transfer, according to the SDDJ model.

      From the shape of the dispersed fluorescence spectrum it is suggested that the equilibrium geometry of the complex in the ground state does not change substantially upon electronic excitation to the S1 state.
