Resumen:
The airways begin in the lips or nose and extend to the alveoli of the lung. In addition to fulfilling thevital function of transporting the air we breathe, they are considered excellent alternatives for thenoninvasive administration of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). However, their anatomyand physiology can be an obstacle to the safe and effective delivery of drugs [1]. For this reason, inhaled medicines are designed as complex systems, constituted by the formulation and theadministration device, thus allowing APIs to reach different areas of the respiratory system.
