Resumen:
Staphylococcus aureus, both in the healthcare setting and the community prompts great urgency in the development of and advocacy for prevention and
treatment efforts. The continous appearance of resistant strains requires an urgent search for new compounds (1). A chemical library of 109 N-benzenesulfonyl
derivatives of bioactive heterocyclic compounds was design and prepared. Two of them have already demonstrated antibacterial activity and also have been
involved in generating reactive oxygen species (ROS) (2), that could be an effect associated to the mechanism of antibacterial action (3).
The objective was to investigate the antibacterial activity of N-Benzenesulfonyl- 1,2,3,4- tetrahydroquinoline (BS-THQ) and ROS generation.
