Resumen:
t is indeed a pleasure and an honour to contribute to this special issue of
ChemPhysChem on atmospheric chemistry. It is especially appropriate that it is
dedicated to Professors Georges Le Bras, Robert Lesclaux and Philippe Mirabel, three
distinguished scientists in the field of physical chemistry who have made and continue
to make major contributions to our understanding of fundamental chemical processes
applied to atmospheric chemistry. The personal friendship, stimulating professional
interaction, willingness and disposition provided by Prof. G. Le Bras will be always
appreciated by S.I.L.

Abstract
The relative rate technique has been used to determine the rate constants of the reactions
of OH radicals with CF3CCl=CCl2 (k1), CF3CCl=CClCF3 (k2) and CF3CF=CFCF3 (k3).
Experiments were carried out at (298±2) K and atmospheric pressure using ultrapure
nitrogen as gas bath. The decay rates of the organic species were measured relative to
those of ethane, methanol, aceton
