This work estimates a QAIDS model of consumer demand for meats ?beef, chicken, pork and fish, with data from the metropolitan area of Argentina for the period 1996/1997. The estimated model probed to be consistent with the observed expenditure patterns of individual consumer and able to provide a welfare analysis of shifts in relative prices. To do this we faced different statistics characteristics of the data and the econometric model: the data are cross-sectional, the prices are implicit, the dependent variable is censured, the system is no lineal in the parameters. We also present estimates and inferences for own and crossed prices elasticities derived from the QIADS model.
