Resumen:
utaneous toxicity may adopt several forms, among whichAllergic Contact Dermatitis (ACD) and Irritant Contact Dermatitis(ICD) are those of greatest prevalence. ACD is the most thoroughlyinvestigated Th1/Tc1 cell-mediated disorder affectingtheskin because of the availability of an excellent mouse modelandthe ability to reproduce the lesions in humans. ICD is usedtodescribe nonimmunologic cutaneous changes caused by contactwith substances from the environment. In both entities, keratinocytes, fibroblasts, endothelial cells as well as invading leukocytesinteract with each other under the control of a networkofcytokines and lipid mediators. Here, we describe the most recentfindingsregarding the role played by blood and lymphatic vesselsin the development of ACD and ICD.
