To evaluate the impact of different oxygenation policies on the rate and severity of ROP.
Lower target oxygen saturation can reduce the prevalence of severe ROP without increasing mortality, changing the characteristics of affected babies. Screening criteria need to remain wide enough to identify all babies at risk of ROP needing treatment.
