Conferencia; 30th FAAPI Conference: Towards the Knowledge Society: making EFL Education Relevant; 2005

In this presentation we examine the discourse used by EFL teachers of young learners. The design on an action research project which led to the identification of a number of functions widely used by EFL teachers in primary classes is described and explained. Results are analyzed and steps to intervene in order to improve pedagogic practice are discussed.
