Resumen:
onventional approaches to reading/teaching/studying literary texts: the cultural model, the language model, the personal growth model (Carter and Long 1991) and the literature as a specialist subject model (McRae 1991).Several theorists and methodologists have classified and characterized approaches to teaching literature. Carter and Long (1991) state that the three main models are the cultural model, the language model and the personal growth model. To these three, Lazar (1993) adds the literature as content approach, which broadly corresponds to the one referred to by McRae (1991) as literature as a specialist subject or Literature with a capital "L".
