Resumen:
Writing is demanding in more than one way. First, it is important for the writer to be aware of conventions that are different from the ones that rule the mother tongue. For instance, while in Spanish writing may be digressive to a certain extent; English writing tends to be linear. Also, while English speaking readers would expect a fixed text pattern, Spanish speaking readers may value emotional impact more highly. At the same time, as writing is a thinking process it will draw on resources that the mind has. No one will be able to write effectively about something they do not know. This implies careful research on topics. On top of that, as writing is a thinking process, foreign language writers may stumble upon difficulties so that they may need to read and reread the text many times before they are satisfied with it.
