Minding the needs of the Argentine learner: Global textbooks and their adapted versions for the local context

nternational publishers such as Pearson and OUP have started producing adapted ("local") versions of textbooks written for the international market. Two cases in point are "New Let´s Go for EGB" (Elsworth, Rose, Date, 1999) and "Dream Team for Argentina" (Whitney, Pye, 2000). The purpose of our research is to look into the differences between the international and the adapted versions in order to single out their distinguishing features.
