Resumen:
Research in vocabulary acquisition has experienced an exponential growth in the last decades and has produced findings that, when applied, help enhance EFL coursebooks. In the presentation we study four elementary EFL textbooks to determine the extent to which these research findings influenced their vocabulary learning component. We focus on motivation, noticing, retrieval, creative use and retention as significant features of vocabulary acquisition that we expect to be present in the activities.
