Resumen:
The concept of Assessment for Learning (AFL) is a relatively new one that is becoming increasingly more central in all fields of education. Nevertheless, its impact on on foreign language teaching in the international context is still largely unresearched, and in the Argentine context its implementation in secondary schools is not yet an issue. In this presentation I will present the main tenets of AFL, comment on some of the newest and more relevant research in foreign language classrooms in the settings where it is implemented, and propose some possible courses for action so as to integrate assessment as a learning tool.
