ereditery hemochromatosis is a autosomal recesive disease characterizaded by an increase in the intestinal absortion of iron. There are not report on the frequency of C28Y and H63D in the Argentina. The aim of this study was to estimate the frequencies of the C28Y and H63D mutations of the HFE gene in a population from Argentina. Our results indicate that HFE C28Y and H63D mutations are present in the Argentina populations.
