We have isolated and characterized from Triatoma infestans (T. infestans), Chagas´ disease vector, two different cDNA encoding for GPDH-1 and GPDH-2 isozymes. After sequencing complete cDNAs, the inferred amino acid sequences showed high identity (60-70 %) with others GPDH sequences from flying insects.  The amino acid residues responsible for the catalytic activity and NAD+ binding sites are essentially conserved.  GPDH-1 is involved in the flight-muscle metabolism and GPDH-2 provides in many tissues precursors for lipid biosynthesis.  In fifth instar nymphs thoracic muscle
