Resumen:
his article compares two methods wich used multiple outputs and multiple inputs to evaluate and rank decision making units (DMUs): Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Principal Component Analysis (PCA). DEA, a nonparametric technique, is used to measure efficiency. PCA, a multivariate statistical method, is used over new measures defined by inputs and outputs. Both methods are applied to a real data set, wich allows us analyzed the technique efficiency in Scientific Research and Experimental Development in Iberoamerican countries. Nonparametrics tests were employed to validate the consistency between the two rankings obtained.
